New Orleans born but Brooklyn based, Joseph Lymous is a Black, queer, creator and mover. Joseph studied Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade. He has toured internationally with several physical theatre companies including Imago Theatre of Portland, OR. Joseph is the co-artistic director of Mass Transit Theater where he performs and facilitates workshops in social/emotional literacy, racial equity, and conflict resolution. Joseph is also the founder of “jomiray productions,”a digital media company which creates joyful content developed for the web and tv. He is a recent recipient of a development grant provided by Dixon Place and The Jim Henson Foundation.
